Welcome to what will be an ongoing series of informative, educational, and most importantly, interesting (we hope) marine journals. Over the weeks and months to come the Mariner's Journal will keep all subscribers informed as to the many developments occurring in the domestic and worldwide marine community, provide short educational articles on various areas of marine insurance, have guest authors from the broking, legal and surveying fraternity, all in the hope and expectation that the subject of Marine Insurance will be demystified, at least a little.

Perhaps a good place to start is by recapping who Atlantic Marine Underwriters Inc. are and how they can be of service to you our producers.

As mentioned in our letter to you a while ago Atlantic Marine Underwriters Inc. was formed in the summer of 1999 as a direct response to the ever increasing need for marine capacity and expertise in the domestic marine community.

Currently, Atlantic has the privilege of representing: the Maritime Insurance Company, ACE INA Insurance Company and London.

With respect to the products sold by Atlantic, they are:

The 'Admiral's' Corner

The 'Admiral' would be pleased to receive any marine question you may have. In all likelihood your question is also residing with many other readers as well. The 'Admiral' will respond in subsequent journals to any question posed for all to read. Questioners may remain anonymous if they wish.
